Love and Relationships

If I want him to meet my needs, the path to the relationship I desire must start within my own heart.

A good relationship is composed mainly --not solely of love--but of gratitude and faithfulness. When both parties learn to give thanks to every small details that makes their relationship work out, happiness and contentment follows.

Sick Gabby

I was not able to write posts last week due to two reasons: I had an online interview with a new client (which I got accepted! and an offer that is sufficient to provide me my needs and wants) and because my gabby got sick.

I was so worried about my daughter as it was her first time (and hopefully the last time) to have very high fever. She was already not feeling well when we woke up Tuesday morning. After her noon time nap, she was already burning hot. Because it was already 4pm, I was not able to bring her to her pediatrician in FEU-marian so I decided to go to a nearby clinic. The doctor gave her some medicines which I will not state for confidential reasons, but after few hours, her face was swollen already and she looked like she was slapped hard on the face! We were not able to sleep well that night. Gabby is waking up almost every hour and around 6am, I heard her crying and she was already shivering with high fever.

I brought her to her doctor where she had a complete blood count CBC and platelet count. To make the long story short, we was admitted and was confined at the hospital. Gabby was crying most of the time especially whenever doctors and nurses enters our room. My jetski was so worried and he calls and texts me all the time, asking for updates for gabby's condition and recovery.

Gabby's condition is already well although she is still taking some medications and needs to be nebulized every 8 hours. I am grateful that she is okay now and her recovered her appetite in eating her favorite foods. I am so thankful for the priesthood blessing that was given to her. I know that she will be as lively as she was
before --very soon!

Kid at Heart

Everyone loves to play or should I say, I do love playing. My siblings and I didn't have too many toys when we were young and most of our toys were given by relatives who are residing in the US. I was happy playing with 2nd hand toys and as long as I have things to play with, I am contented.

Gabby and I went to SM north edsa today to have a simple catching up with my friend shane, we've been friends since 1st year college. I have a lot of happy memories with him and I consider shane as one of my closest friends. After spending some time with my friend, gabby and I went to trinoma to buy things for my jetski. Then we headed to gymboree for gabby to play with other kids. However, I was shocked with the price so we went to Kevin's play place instead, just beside gymboree. It was much cheaper and gabby had so much fun!

Looks like she's having fun, ayt?

Where My Heart Is

One of my favorite books is The Alchemist written by award winning author, Paulo Coelho. This book is composed of various quotations that helped me strive to do good and become a better person. I first read this book way back 2004 and was thrilled not only by the book's story line but with how the story was deliberated.

"Wherever your heart is, that is where you'll find your treasure." -The Alchemist

That will be my inspirational words for today. I know where my heart is and I am grateful that God gave me a life better than I could ever imagine. I know that there are a lot of trials and difficulties that I am and will about to experience --but with constant prayer and positive outlook in life, I know I will be able to make it.
My family is my topmost priority and where you'll find my happiness.

With my jetski and gabby

With my parents and siblings. (can you find me? LOL)

Debt Free

Money is vital as it used in purchasing various needs in life. However, we should not make money our single  most priority as well as our source of happiness.

I enjoy listening to Jesse Jane's song, price tag. The lyrics goes like this:

Seems like everybodys got a price, I wonder how they sleep at night.
When the tale comes first, And the truth comes second,
Just stop, for a minute and Smile
Why is everybody so serious!
Acting so damn mysterious
You got your shades on your eyes And your heels so high
That you can't even have a good Time.
Everybody look to their left
Everybody look to their right
Can you feel that
Well pay them with love tonight...

It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world change,
Forget about the Price Tag.
Ain't about the (ha) Ka-Ching Ka-Ching.
Aint about the (yeah) Ba-Bling Ba-Bling
Wanna make the world change,
Forget about the Price Tag.

My jetski emailed me a simple reminder of how better life would be if we learn to live within our means and avoid having debts --no matter how big or small it may be.

Basic Financial Ideas

1.  Get in as little debt as possible when single (hopefully none):  Sacrifice, be frugal, work hard financially.
2.  Have low needs for discretionary income.
3.  Financial problems are typically behavior problems.
4.  Keep doing what you are and you will keep getting the same results.
5.  You cannot feel satisfied in spending money on things that have little or no value.
6.  Financial freedom does not come by increasing income.
Financial freedom comes from decreasing spending.
7.  There is nothing for which it is worth risking the relationship.
8.  We know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
9.  You can never get enough of what you don’t need because what you don’t need won’t satisfy you.

11.  The best things in life are free.
I love everything that was mentioned in this post and I believe that being debt-free is the best way for us to be financially stable. $$$

Birthdays are Special

This was supposedly published a few days after my birthday (June 15) but unfortunately, due to weak internet connection, I didn't noticed that it was saved in drafts rather than being published. Anyway, here it is:

I celebrated my birthday last week and I can say that it was a simple yet meaningful celebration.

When I was young, I keep asking myself as well as my parents why I don't have fancy birthday celebrations just like what my classmates and friends has. As you might know, my birthday is June 15 and it is normally the first or probably the 2nd day of school classes. My parents don't have enough budget to buy and prepare special menu and dishes for my birthday as it was already spent on tuition fees, books, uniforms, notebooks and other school related stuffs.

I grow up longing for a grand birthday celebration --but it still never happens. However, as time passes by, I realized that birthdays are not just mere celebrating with cakes, pastries, pastas, flavorful dishes and the like. It is more of being grateful for the year that God had given me and for all the wonderful blessings that I've received throughout the year --blessings that are more than what the eye can see.

I know that God had showered me countless blessings that includes my family, friends, my jetski, my precious gabby and of course, my life.

Birthdays are special
I just celebrated my birthday
Therefore, I am special :)

I am no Superhero

Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words: "With great power comes great responsibility." This is my gift, my curse. Who am I? I'm Spider-man. --One of my favorite movie lines.

I am no spiderman, I am no superhero. But I believe in that particular saying as I have experienced that first hand. However. I do not think or consider my responsibilities as both a gift and curse as I know that such accountability is a blessing given by my Heavenly Father.

I know that He entrusted me those works and tasks in order for me to mature and grow. I know that I will benefit from all these in the future by gaining enough knowledge and wisdom from these experiences.

I was called and sustained as the new ward  primary president and although there are a lot of people who are questioning my ability to lead and teach the young and naive minds of the primary children, I still believe in what my bishop told me:"You are given this kind of responsibility simply because God knows that you are capable of magnifying your calling.. You can do it."

I do not care as to whether or not people or church members still look at me with raised eyebrows because of my past mistakes in life. I believe in the power of repentance and atonement and I know that Heavenly Father had already forgiven me.

I will do whatever it takes to keep my covenant with the Lord and to serve with a happy heart in magnifying my church calling. I love being in the primary! :)
